Emma was born in Bray, County Wicklow in 1976 and graduated in Fine Art from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dunlaoghaire in 1997. She later moved to Belfast, Northern Ireland to continue her studies at the University of Ulster where she gained a Masters in Fine Art degree in 2004.

Since then Emma has continued to develop her career as a professional artist, enjoying considerable success with many solo exhibitions in Ireland and group exhibitions in New York and Cuba.
